Amid Market Downtown, China's Developers Dig In

(Beijing) – Shenyang, the capital of the northeastern province of Liaoning, started lifting all restrictions on home purchases from September 12, local officials say.

Provincial capitals like Hohhot, Jinan and Haikou also have canceled the restrictions in the past three months.

Home prices and sales have declined in cities across the country since the end of last year. Many cities have relaxed the purchase restrictions that the central government urged them to put in place in 2010 to cool the real estate industry.
