Book: Picnics Prohibited: Diplomacy in a Chaotic China During the First World War

AHad Penguin China published all the various World War One "specials" as a book, one chapter less catching than the others would probably have passed unremarked. But each was published as a stand-alone book, and Frances Wood's Picnics Prohibited: Diplomacy in a Chaotic China During the First World War is somewhat drier and doesn't have quite the same number of "oh, I didn't know that" moments of some of the companion volumes.
