In Plans for Rural Exodus, Policymakers Must Factor in Inequality

(Beijing) – Urbanization policies must be modified to account for the social welfare of farmers, said academics and economists at the Caixin Summit.

The State Council, China's cabinet, released in March a new national urbanization blueprint for the period from 2014 to 2020 which plans boost the percentage of urban residents in the general population from the current level of 53.7 to around 60 percent.
