U.S. Ambassador in Beijing on Getting It Right

 

(Beijing) – A meeting between President Xi Jinping and U.S. counterpart Barack Obama during November's Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation conference in Beijing yielded more than many political observers had anticipated. That may explain why America's ambassador to China, Max Baucus, was especially upbeat during a recent interview with Caixin.

Baucus, the Obama administration's third ambassador to China, said he was impressed by each president's tone during their hours-long discussion.
