Communist Party Watchdog Investigates Member of Smaller Party
(Beijing) – A Communist Party investigation into a former member of Guangzhou's political advisory body who is a member of one of the country's eight other political party parties has raised eyebrows.
On January 6, the Guangdong branch of the Communist Party's anti-corruption watchdog said on its website that Pan Shengshen, a former vice chairman of the southern city's branch of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, is being probed for "violations of the law and discipline." That phrase usually means corruption and the "discipline" aspect is taken to mean Communist Party rules.
