Views: Social Media Update
A few people in the West have started unplugging in 2015 in a bid to escape the online world, where every trip, meal or moment is shared with hundreds or thousands of "friends." For some, this means a temporary hiatus from social networks, but others are deleting their social media accounts. A few extremists have said they are limiting the technology in their home to a basic fridge, dishwasher and stove, and an American man named Paul Miller became an Internet sensation by, ironically, giving up the Internet for a year. Many in China are getting more and more plugged in, and Caixin wondered how people feel about this and whether unplugging had any appeal.
