China Names Former Deng Translator Its Envoy to North Korea

(Beijing) – China has appointed Li Jinjun, who once served as Deng Xiaoping's translator, its ambassador to North Korea, the official state news agency Xinhua said on March 17.
Li, 59, left his position as a deputy director of the International Department of the Communist Party's Central Committee to replace Liu Hongcai. Liu became ambassador to North Korea in March 2010.
