Closer Look: HK Risks Alienating Mainlanders with Cuts to Shenzhen Visit Program

(Beijing) – Shenzhen residents are now allowed to visit Hong Kong once a week with their multiple-entry permits, according to a new central government policy that came into effect on April 13.

The policy is a response to the protests this year by Hongkongers against traders who buy goods in the former British colony and then tote them across the border for resale.
