Water Pendulum

Olafur Eliasson's Water Pendulum installation spreads across a mutable expanse, shooting sprinkles of water through a seeming infinitude of dark space. The Danish-Icelandic artist's piece follows upon his recent "Take Your Time" works, which invoke themes of light and time. Ripples of water twist violently side to side forming a mechanical apparatus of itself. Eliasson pushes viewers to acknowledge the elemental medium of the artwork, and identify aesthetic common denominators.
