Massage

The multiple story lines of Bi Feiyu's latest novel Massage converge at the Sha Zongqi tuina center at the end of 2001 in the old capital of Nanjing, where the blind protagonists knead out the stresses from the bodies of modern China's increasingly wealthy population.

The book captures China at a major inflection point where unprecedented economic growth is helping to coin millionaires by the month and tells the story of how the blind but skilled who live on society's fringe may or may not be included in their country's renaissance.
