Emissions from Nation's Incineration Plants 'Surpass Standards'

(Beijing) – Emissions over the last two years from incineration plants exceeded waste-burning standards the country put in place last year, according to a report by two non-governmental organizations.

Last year, Friends of Nature, which is based in the capital, and Wuhu Ecology Center, in the eastern province of Anhui, asked 103 local environments for emissions data on 160 incineration plants in 2013 and 2014. Sixty-five local environmental authorities responded with data on as many facilities.
