China Sets 2030 as Key Date in Cutting Carbon Emissions

(Washington) – China has said it will curb carbon emissions by around 2030 and try to accomplish this even earlier as part of its commitment to tackling climate change.

In a report to the United Nations Climate Change Secretariat on June 30, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) highlighted several of the country's goals regarding carbon emission cuts.
