No Direction Rome

I admit to being increasingly bemused by "Indian fiction." No Direction Rome is written by an Indian (Kaushik Barua), but while there is an arranged marriage in the background, there's nary a sari, mango or flame tree in the book. Admittedly, the book doesn't take place in India, but neither does it take place in London, New York or at an American university, the normal sorts of settings for novels by the Indian diaspora or expats. This one is mostly set in Rome.
