China Nominates Former Finance Vice Minister as AIIB President

(Beijing) – China has nominated a former vice minister of finance seen as a problem solver to be the first head of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), a week after it and 49 other countries signed the development bank's articles of agreement.
The nomination of Jin Liqun, 66, came as little surprise to many people close to the AIIB. He established a reputation as a skilled troubleshooter since becoming secretary general of a panel that laid the groundwork for the AIIB in October.
