Nearly Half of A-Shares Suspend Trading as Rout Continues

(Beijing) – Nearly half of the companies listed on the Shanghai and Shenzhen bourses have suspended the trading of their shares, as the market continued to plummet despite government efforts to stem selloffs.
The number of firms whose shares are now frozen has reached 1,317, accounting for almost 50 percent of the more than 2,700 stocks listed on the A-share market, data from the exchanges shows.
