Gov't Said to Draft Plan to Battle Soil Pollution Problem

(Beijing) – The central government has drafted a plan to fight China's serious soil pollution problem over the next six or seven years, an environmental official says, but he added that lawmakers will have to speed up work on legislation for it to work.
Li Ganjie, a vice minister of environmental protection, said at a forum on July 11 that the Ministry of Environmental Protection has submitted a draft of the plan to the State Council, the cabinet, for its approval.
