It's 9:15 p.m. on a smoggy Beijing night, and I am pushing through busy Thursday night crowds trying to fight my way to the Opposite House hotel. Finally, I duck into the spacious entryway, leaving the intense humidity behind. It seems, however, that Chen Daming, a veteran of the Chinese film industry and my companion for the evening is nowhere to be found.
