Number of College Students with HIV/AIDS Soars, Official Says

(Beijing) – The number of college students with HIV/AIDS has grown by nearly 30 percent in each of the past three years – rising to 50 percent in some areas – because of a lack of awareness of the disease among homosexuals, a health official says.

Wu Zunyou, director of National Center for AIDS/STD Control and Prevention (NCAIDS), said on August 11 that homosexuals account for four-fifths of China's university students with HIV/AIDS.
