Wanda Boss Hits Back at NYT Report, Credits Success to Management

(Boston) – The chairman of a major Chinese developer has said that the success of his business empire owes to its business model and wise management, rather than ties to powerful people close to President Xi Jinping, as was suggested in a report by the New York Times in April.
Wang Jianlin made the defense of his Dalian Wanda Group while serving as guest speaker for an open class at Harvard University on October 29. In the class, he was asked by a business professor to comment on the report, which described Wanda's exceptional performance as other developers struggled and detailed its links to relatives of important people in China, including Xi.
