Regional Carrier Takes Delivery of Delayed China-Built Passenger Jet

The ARJ21, the first China-made regional jetliner, lands at the Chengdu Shuangliu Internatonal Airport on November 29/IC

(Shanghai) – A regional airline took delivery of the country's first domestically produced passenger jet on November 29 after years of delays.

Chengdu Airlines Co. Ltd., based in the southwestern province of Sichuan, took the ARJ21 Flying Phoenix from Commercial Aircraft Corp. of China Ltd. (Comac). It will begin service after three months of testing, Comac said.
