Shenzhen to Reclaim Coastal Land So More Homes Can Be Built

(Shenzhen) – Shenzhen's Communist Party leader says it plans to reclaim 55 square kilometers of land along its coast so it can be developed in a bid to curb soaring housing prices in the southern city.

Ma Xingrui announced the plan in an interview with a local TV station on March 2. He did not say when the work will begin, how long it will take or how much it will cost.
