The Ruined Elegance

Fiona Sze-Lorrain's collection, The Ruined Elegance, is an experimental book of poetry that explores the secrets and insatiable longings in life. Adopting a poetic language of her own, Sze-Lorrain's writing draws from different art forms, languages and cultures to articulate unspoken secrets and the relationship with or distance from society.

An experienced translator of contemporary Chinese poetry who has translated Bai Hua, Yu Xiang and Lan Lan, Sze-Lorrain's poetry engages with a different form of 'translation' as she translates her artistic influences and weaves those materials into a single, textured fabric of imagination.
