Closer Look: A Hotel Attack and the Dark World of Sex Workers

(Beijing) – A recent attack on a female guest at a hotel in Beijing has shed light on rings organizing sex workers in the capital.

Police said on April 9 they had detained the alleged attacker and four other suspects linked to the ring. The man told police he harassed the female guest because he mistook her for an independent sex worker who was trying to steal business from his network.
