A Student Revolutionary's memoir on the Year Mao Died

As a young Icelandic Marxist-Leninist student, Ragnar Baldursson applied for and was awarded a scholarship to study at Peking University in Beijing for two years in 1975. Nineteen Seventy-six, part memoir and part political reflection, is his account of the events that shaped the course of the country's history in those tumultuous years, including the disastrous Tangshan earthquake, the end of the Cultural Revolution, and the death of Mao Zedong.
