Tech Progress Depends on More Reform, Including for Intellectual Property

China is progressing toward becoming a technology leader. Brands such as Huawei, Alibaba, Haier and many more are gaining popularity, even in Germany. A study by the Fraunhofer Society of Germany, a global leader in applied sciences, recently concluded that China has closed the gap with Western economies in some fields related to the digital economy faster than expected. As ambassador to China I have had the opportunity to see for myself.
