Police Officer Linked to Military License Plate Scam Pleads Guilty

(Guangzhou) - A top police officer in the southern province of Guangdong pleaded guilty for accepting bribes from businessmen in return for military license plates.

Prosecutors charged Cai Guangliao with accepting 4.75 million yuan in cash from 1993 to 2006 when he was the head of a police unit overseeing security of provincial leaders during a trial in Guangzhou on May 13.
