Afghan History Through Afghan Eyes

The editor of this volume, Nile Green, starts his introduction with the question: "how have Afghans made sense of their history?" The objective of Afghan History Through Afghan Eyes, he continues "is to use historiography to expose the different ways in which Afghans have used their past as a charter for divergent political programs – conservative or progressive, national or internationalist, secular or Islamic – aimed at transforming their collective future."
