Senior Official in Southern Chinese Province Commits Suicide, Police Say

(Guangzhou) - A deputy chief of staff to the governor of Guangdong has hung himself in his apartment in the provincial capital Guangzhou on June 12, police said.

Liu Xiaohua, 57, was appointed as deputy secretary general of the General Office of Guangdong's government, in-charge of coordinating activities of all senior provincial officials, in late March.
