Closer look: Nuclear Protests Offer a Teaching Moment

(Beijing) –City officials in Lianyungang have dropped a feasibility study on a nuclear waste recycling plant after local residents took to the streets in protest.

The city government in the eastern province of Jiangsu said on August 10 that it was suspending the feasibility study on the plant that was to be jointly funded by state-owned China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) and its French partner.
