China Eases Pricing Rules on Public Hospitals

(Beijing) – A new set of guidelines issued August 24 by the National Development and Reform Commission has eased pricing controls on public health facilities, giving hospitals more flexibility to decide on the price of medical services.

The guidelines allow hospitals to make money from patient registration fees, operations, nursing care and other services instead of relying on drug sales.
