Chinese Flights Ban 'Exploding' Samsung Phones
(Beijing) —The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) is banning the use and charging of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 phones on board flights after reports worldwide that the cellphone's batteries can explode while charging.
The civil aviation regulator said Sept 14 that the device will not be allow in checked-in baggage, or air cargo.
CAAC’s announcement came after several Chinese carriers, including Hainan Airlines, have prohibited cabin crew from carrying a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 on board.
