Agricultural Bank of China Executive Joins Securities Regulatory Agency

(Beijing) — Jiang Feng, chairman of the Agricultural Bank of China's investment banking subsidiary, ABC International, has left his position and joined the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), according to a recent internal announcement from the regulator.

The announcement did not say what Jiang's title will be. According to sources close to the regulator, he will most likely be the director of the CSRC's Department of International Affairs.

Jiang, 53, worked at the People's Bank of China from 1996 to 2009 and then joined the Agricultural Bank of China to prepare for the launch of ABC International.

Four of the CSRC's departments currently lack a chief due to recent personnel changes. The other three are the Department of Fund and Intermediary Supervision, the Department of Listed Company Supervision, and the Department of Public Offering Supervision. The top position of the CSRC's affiliated institution, the Enforcement Task Force, has also been vacant.
