Shanghai to Implement Outright Tobacco Ban at Indoor Venues

(Shanghai) — Shanghai will tighten tobacco control rules in March, banning smoking in all indoor public venues, workplaces and public transport hubs.

The Municipal People's Congress passed an amendment to existing smoking regulations on Friday, following similar legislation by Beijing municipal lawmakers last year.

The amended regulation forbids smoking in hotels, restaurants and entertainment venues, as well as government agencies' offices, meeting rooms and cafeterias.
