Fugitive Chinese official Jiang Lei was repatriated Friday after 11 years on the run in New Zealand, according to the Communist Party’s corruption watchdog.
Jiang, a former top-ranking official at the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, is suspected of corruption, and had an Interpol red notice issued against him in July 2007.
Lei, who was returned to China with the help of New Zealand law enforcement authorities, is the 55th “Red Notice Official” to be turned in so far, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection said.
