In another giant leap for science, researchers from around the world have connected a global network of radio dishes to capture the first-ever image of what scientists believe is a gargantuan black hole at the heart of a distant galaxy. The work from the international Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) project is the strongest evidence yet to support the theory of general relativity proposed by the German-born theoretical physicist Albert Einstein more than a century ago. No Chinese dishes were involved in the EHT project, but the state-run China Daily reported that twelve astronomers from the Chinese mainland were among the more than 200 that contributed
