5th Russia–China Media Forum to Be Held at EEF 2019

The 5th Russia–China Media Forum will be held on 3 September on the side-lines of the Eastern Economic Forum 2019. Representatives from the two countries’ leading media outlets and companies, Internet platforms, and other industry-related organizations will be participating in the Media Forum. The Russian delegation will be headed by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Chief of the Government Staff Konstantin Chuychenko.

Forum participants will discuss issues surrounding media interaction, such as media collaboration in the digital environment, content sharing, the creation of joint information products, professional standards, and the protection of personal data in the new media era.

Russian-Chinese media forums are traditionally held on the side-lines of major international events. In 2017, the 3rd Russia–China Media Forum was held in Moscow as part of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to the Russian Federation. In 2018, the 4th Media Forum was held in Shanghai as part of Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev’s visit to China.

The 5th Anniversary Eastern Economic Forum will be taking place on 4–6 September in Vladivostok.

The Eastern Economic Forum

The Eastern Economic Forum is held annually with the objective of facilitating the accelerated development of the Russian Far East’s economy and expanding international cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region in accordance with the Executive order of the President of the Russian Federation No. 250 of 19 May 2015.

The 2019 Eastern Economic Forum will be held in Vladivostok from 4–6 September. Far Eastern Federal University’s (FEFU) campus on Russkiy Ostrov will serve as the forum’s venue.
