State Council Vice Premier Hu Chunhua to Lead PRC Delegation at the Eastern Economic Forum 2019
Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation Anton Kobyakov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the PRC to the Russian Federation Zhang Hanhui met in Moscow. The parties discussed the participation of the Chinese delegation in the 5th Eastern Economic Forum, which will be held on 4–6 September in Vladivostok.
The meeting participants noted that the year 2019 marks 70 years of diplomatic relations between our countries, emphasizing that the parties took Russian-Chinese relations to an all-time high level. In turn, this attests to neighbourly coexistence and mutually beneficial cooperation.
“In June this year, during the visit of President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping to Russia, the countries announced the start of a new era of affairs. Our trade and economic relations hold vast potential, especially considering the development of the Eurasian Economic Community and the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative. China traditionally takes an active part in the Roscongress Foundation events such as the Eastern Economic Forum, the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the International Arctic Forum and many others. I am confident that the upcoming visit of the Chinese delegation to Vladivostok will be a success and contribute to the further development of cooperation between Russia and China,” said Anton Kobyakov.
Zhang Hanhui emphasized that in 2018, trade between Russia and China reached USD 107 billion. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping set a goal to double trade between our countries by 2024.
