Booster Shots May Be Key to Protection From Omicron, Study Shows

A new Chinese study on omicron shows the new coronavirus variant is more likely to evade immunity from two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine than other strains, while proposing that people get booster shots to increase protection against it.
The study found two types of booster shots — the heterologous protein subunit vaccine and homologous inactivated vaccine — could improve neutralization against omicron, though they may induce fewer serum antibodies than those produced against other strains.
