China boosts clean power generation capacity on climate ambition

China’s clean energy industry boomed this year as the country pushed forward its emission reduction goals. Total installed capacity of nonfossil power generation rose 17.2% year-on-year to 1.07 billion kilowatts by the end of November, accounting for 46.1% of total generating capacity. Wind power, with total capacity of 300 million kilowatts, contributed the most to the gain, expanding 29% year-on-year.
