Panasonic, Daihatsu Halt Malaysian Plants After Severe Floods

(Nikkei Asia) — Panasonic, the latest foreign manufacturer to be hit by severe flooding in Malaysia, announced on Wednesday the temporary suspension of production at its factory near Kuala Lumpur, the capital, after it was inundated by heavy rains.
Panasonic expects the plant to be closed for at least a week, halting its production of vacuum cleaners, ceiling fans and exhaust fans for Southeast Asian markets. The company is currently inspecting the equipment inside the facility.
