China Rebuts Reports Citing New Covid-19 Rules as Reason for Flight U-Turn

The Chinese Embassy in the U.S. has rebutted media reports pinning blame on China’s new Covid-19 rules that led to a U.S. airline’s flight from Seattle turning back to the U.S. halfway to Shanghai.

The embassy said in a Tuesday statement that the flight crew’s claim that the returned flight was reportedly caused by China’s entry policy, “does not correspond to facts” (link in Chinese).
