China’s Solar Industry Pushes Back Against U.S. Xinjiang Scrutiny

(Bloomberg) — China’s solar industry pushed back against increasing U.S. scrutiny of human rights issues in Xinjiang, calling it slander designed to help American companies compete in the fast-growing sector.
Solar businesses strictly follow international standards in the region, and there’s no evidence of any forced labor, the China Photovoltaic Industry Association said Tuesday in a WeChat post. It’s the group’s first statement on the issue, largely following the official Beijing line on Xinjiang.
