Year in Review: Internet Investors Flock to Southeast Asia

Capital markets across Southeast Asia recorded robust IPO activities in 2021.

From the beginning of 2021 to mid-November, companies based in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia and Vietnam raised $9.8 billion from 121 IPOs, increasing the total market value to a record $36.1 billion.

The number of IPOs increased by 6% compared to the full year of 2020, while the total funds raised rose by 39%, and the total IPO market capitalization grew by 24%.
