Many of the free at-home Covid-19 test kits Americans are receiving from the U.S. government were made in China by three companies that are benefiting from surging demand worldwide — except in China itself.

Among the 15 kits that gained emergency use authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, three are made by Chinese companies: Andon Health Co. Ltd. (002432.SZ), Acon Biotech (Hangzhou) Co. Ltd. and Zhejiang Orient Gene Biotech Co. Ltd. (688298.SH).
