The U.S. Justice Department is ending a Trump-era national security program focused on countering Chinese espionage and intellectual property theft, the department said Wednesday.

The China Initiative, launched in 2018 by former President Donald Trump, is not the right approach as the current threat landscape demands a broader strategy, Assistant Attorney General Matthew Olsen, the new head of the National Security Division, said Wednesday in a speech at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.
