Nio’s Hong Kong Homecoming May Inspire Other U.S.-Listed Chinese Companies

Electric-car maker Nio Inc.’s secondary listing in Hong Kong this week could inspire more U.S.-listed Chinese companies to hit the bourse by introduction, as they seek a backstop position closer to Beijing amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.

Late in February, the firm announced that it had gained approval for listing in Hong Kong by introduction — an easier way for a listed firm with good compliance to trade its existing shares on another bourse.
