China Revises Covid Treatments to Add New Therapies Amid Flare-Up

China’s national health authorities updated Covid-19 prevention and control guidelines to recommend newly developed treatments and modify quarantine requirements as the country faces its biggest outbreak by far since the early days of the pandemic.
Revised guidelines issued Tuesday by the National Health Commission include the use of Pfizer Inc.’s new Covid-19 pill, the first such a recommendation since the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) issued conditional approval Feb. 11 of the drug giant’s Paxlovid treatment.
