Volkswagen enlists Chinese help to access Indonesian metals

Volkswagen China Investment Co. Ltd., Huayou Cobalt Co. Ltd. and Tsingshan Holding Group Ltd. have signed a deal to form an Indonesia-based joint venture which will focus on producing nickel and cobalt, the core materials for making electric-vehicle (EV) batteries, according to an exchange filing on Monday.
