Apple suppliers halt production in Shanghai, Kunshan due to Covid-19 outbreak

Two major Apple suppliers have suspended production as authorities work to contain the nation’s worst Covid-19 outbreak since the start of the pandemic.

MacBook maker Quanta Computer Inc. said Wednesday it had suspended a Shanghai plant to comply with government restrictions for virus control. The production halt by Quanta, the only supplier of Apple Inc.’s MacBook computers, is set to affect delivery of the devices, said Guo Mingji, an analyst at TF International Securities.
