Hospital Bosses Sent to Prison for Admitting Fever Patients

Two former directors of a hospital in Southwest China were recently sentenced to one year in prison for illegally admitting fever patients during the country’s first wave of Covid-19 outbreaks in early 2020, the latest conviction for breaching epidemic control rules under the “zero-Covid” policy.
Li Tao, former director of the hospital of Southwest Petroleum University in Nanchong, Sichuan province, and Wang Jiliang, a vice director at the hospital, were removed from their posts in February 2020 after an investigation by local authorities, according to official statements.
